Welcome to the Upper Rank Advancement Department.

 

The Upper Rank Department covers the scouting ranks of Star Scout, Life Scout and Eagle Scout. Scouts attaining these ranks have been in the Troop for about four or more years and have completed all four lower rank advancements. A scout reaching the ranks of Star, Life and Eagle will transition from patrol or group advancement to a more independent advancement with a focus on merit badges, service hours and leadership skills. 

 

The Adult Leaders in the Upper Rank Department help by guiding the scouts as they take on troop responsibilities; help by counselling the scouts as they work to complete merit badges and service hours; and help by advising the scouts as they navigate the rigors of advancement from Star to Eagle. 

 

While all scouts may not attain the rank of Eagle Scout, all scouts benefit from the advancement program in Troop 184. These scouts learn, and hone, valuable life skills to be taken from the scouting world into the real world.
